What is Tokyo Mindfulness?
Hey, my name is Misha and I’m the founder of Tokyo Mindfulness. 👋
After going through a period of really tough burnout in my life (it was really hell), I turned to mindfulness. There were many techniques, and people, who helped me along my path to healing and balance. It definitely was not a linear path.
What was most important in my journey:
Being in community
Self-awareness
Kindness to myself
I started Tokyo Mindfulness as a way to reconnect with myself, and to connect people with each other in Japan. Eventually, I began to do it full time. My aim is to make mindfulness more accessible to English speakers in Japan, providing a safe, open space for anyone to come.
We meditate in a circle almost every week.
Sometimes we hike and meditate next to big Buddha statues.
Other times we get out of the city and go on retreat in Nagano or Nikko.
Today we are a vibrant community with over 2,000 members based in the heart of Tokyo, driven by a shared commitment to living more mindfully. Every week we host events, retreats, courses and more.
Come check out an event sometime!
