Earth, Air, Water and Fire Mindfulness Retreat in Yamanashi
A Crash-Course in Mindfulness Amidst Waterfalls and Shrines
Hey all, this is a quick note to share that I’m planning our next weekend mindfulness retreat in Yamanashi this July 12th-14th.
I think many of us sense that something is off. We’ve become disconnected from nature, from each other, and from ourselves. Our attention is scattered, our bodies are over-stimulated, and our hearts long for something more grounded.
This 2-night retreat is a chance to return to what really matters.
We’ll be staying at Kakurinbo, a 600-year-old Buddhist temple tucked away in the mountains of Yamanashi. It’s a quiet, powerful place and perfect for slowing down and reconnecting.
You’ll get a crash course in the foundations of mindfulness: mind, body, and heart. I blend Buddhist practices with modern Western science so it’s relevant and clear.
Along the way, we’ll explore the four elements — earth, air, water, and fire — as anchors for awareness and renewal. These aren’t just forces of nature. They live inside us too: in our breath, movement, emotions, and energy.
Oh, and there’s hiking, a waterfall meditation and fire ceremony :)
