14 Years Barefoot in Tokyo (Podcast)

A Journey of Nonconformity and Mindfulness in Japan [Episode 1]

Rob Nugen is a Connection Coach for men and an author based in Tokyo. Incredibly, he has been walking barefoot around Japan for the past 14 years (and 24 years around the world)!

In this lively conversation, we dive into why Rob chose to go barefoot and how he’s found it surprisingly easy to maintain this unconventional lifestyle in a country known for its emphasis on conformity.

We also explore mental health and the weight we carry when we don’t express our authentic selves.

Rob guides us through a short awareness practice, inviting us to notice a secret we’ve been holding on to, and reflect on what it might feel like to finally let that go. Rob leads workshops, meetings, and one-on-one sessions, offering people the tools to connect more joyfully with themselves and others.
